Last Years Winner Dennis Slotnick!
Dennis Slotnick of Clay High School teaches Environmental Science and Biology Courses and his involvement with the district spans over 20 years. He is an extremely dedicated and innovative teacher and has spent countless hours establishing Clay as the first public school in Northwest Ohio with a wind energy research facility. He considers the environment his classroom, and often takes his students outside and into the world they are studying. Rather than teach from an overhead projector or text book, Mr. Slotnick makes Science come alive for his students. He strives for improvement, and never shies away from boldly asking questions to enhance student learning. Mr. Slotnick is a two time recipient of the Governors Award for Excellence as well as the Eagles Excellence Award. He is not only an extraordinary teacher of science, but also a true educator who lives for his subject matter. Clay will receive a $10,000 endowed scholarship in the name of Mr. Dennis Slotnick. Congratulations!
